Mr Nick Chan, MH, JP, Director of AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCO-HKRAC) and guest co-host Mr Horace Cheung Kwok-Kwan, SBS, JP, Deputy Secretary for Justice, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region hosted His Excellency Mr Mojalefa Mogono, South African Consul General at the AALCO-HKRAC fireside chat on 31 August 2023.
We specially thank Mr Cheung for his active participation, without which, the chat could not be such relaxed and engaging.
Mr Mogono also shared many interesting personal stories in living and working in Hong Kong and South Africa, vividly illustrating the colourful economic and cultural landscape of South Africa and the great potential for Hong Kong legal professional services and dispute resolution services to serve business people in South Africa.
Despite the typhoon, and thanks to the unfailing support of Hong Kong Bar Association, The Law Society of Hong Kong and Young Executive Council-Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the event was very well attended by lawyers, lawmakers, business community leaders and leading professions at historical monument the Former French Mission Building which previously housed Hong Kong’s Court of Final Appeal.
