AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCO-HKRAC) congratulates the HCCH on its 130 anniversaries and the highly success of the HCCH Asia Pacific Week took place in Hong Kong on 11 – 14 September 2023.
Mr John Lee Ka-Chiu GBM SBS PDSM PMSM, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR of the P.R. China, Ms Hua Chunying, Minister Assistant, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the P.R. China, Dr Christophe Bernasconi, Secretary General of HCCH and Mr Paul Lam, SBS, SC, JP, Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong SAR and other high level officers attended the event in person and jointly announced the opening of the event.
Mr Dennis CAI, Deputy Director of the AALCO-HKRAC, delivered a speech to 200+ delegates and 400+ online attendees, sharing his views on key HCCH conventions and international legal instruments. He emphasised the more and more important role of the HCCH Principles on Choice of Law in International Commercial Contracts (HCCH) in international arbitration community and highlighted that the AALCO-HKRAC Platform Arbitration Rules fully consist with the HCCH Principles by adopting provisions on party autonomy on choice of substantive law and guiding parties to agree on using HK laws to arbitration agreement and procedural matters.
