On 21 February 2024, a senior delegation from East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL) led by Prof Guo Weilu made time to visit the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCO-HKRAC). Warmly recommending the delegation and treasuring the opportunity to learn from each other and collaborate in the future, Nick Chan, MH, JP, Director leading the operations of AALCO-HKRAC presented the vision, mission, workplan, capacity building programmes, challenges and opportunities of the centre, the AALCO disputes settlement system supported b 47 member countries, and the international legal services and disputes resolution market, and reiterated Hong Kong’s significant role as an international legal and dispute resolution hub, as well as highlighting the pivotal role and advantages of Hong Kong as a regional arbitration centre.

Prof Guo introduced the development, strengths and upcoming focus and plans of the university, and expressed strong interest in collaborative opportunities with AALCO-HKRAC. This visit deepened mutual understanding and facilitated progress in capacity building and international law development.
