AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre was honoured to welcome a distinguished delegation from the International Institute of Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation (IIMAC) to the AALCO Regional Centre for Arbitration in Hong Kong on 18 October 2025.
The delegation was led by Maître Yvette NGWEVILO REKANGALT, President of IIMAC—headquartered in Libreville, Gabon—and Vice-President of the Professional Mediators Network of Africa (REMPA).
Our Deputy Director Mr Dennis Cai engaged in a highly constructive meeting with the delegation, which included members of the Gabonese delegation participating in the preparatory works for the launch of the International Organisation for Mediation (IOMed). The discussions focused on identifying concrete areas for future collaboration, including:
- International Mediation Development:Jointly promoting the growth and institutionalization of mediation.
- Capacity Building:Enhancing institutional capabilities across Africa and Asia.
- ADR Promotion:Advancing the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms between our two regions.
This engagement with the Gabon-based institute marks a significant step in strengthening South-South cooperation and underscores our commitment to building a more robust, inclusive, and collaborative legal and dispute resolution framework for Asia and Africa.
