AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCO-HKRAC) warmly welcomed Judge Peter Tomka, Past President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on 17 February 2025.
Judge Tomka, having long recognized the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization’s (AALCO) contributions to the global legal landscape, including Law of the Sea and other international law developments, engaged in fruitful discussions with Mr. Nick Chan, BBS, MH, JP, Director of AALCO-HKRAC and Mr. Dennis Cai, Deputy Director of AALCO-HKRAC.
The visit allowed Judge Tomka to gain deeper insights into AALCO-HKRAC’s specialized role in international arbitration and mediation. He also shared expertise on ICJ practice, including the process of hearing and judgment drafting.
With a mutual consensus to advancing peace through rule-based multilateral cooperation, AALCO-HKRAC looks forward to building resilient and fair frameworks of dispute resolution for international society.
