On November 19, 2024, the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCO HKRAC) successfully hosted Fireside Chat #10, drawing maritime arbitration experts, consular officials, corporate counsel, business analysts, and industry professionals from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Egypt, Nigeria, Cameroon, and other regions.
The Fireside Chat featured distinguished guest speaker, Mr. Danny Mok, Independent Maritime and Commercial Arbitrator and President of Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration Group (HKMG), who shared insightful perspectives on “Reinforce Hong Kong’s Status as an International Shipping Centre by Maritime Arbitration, Maritime Finance, and Maritime Insurance”. The event was hosted by Mr. Dennis Cai, Deputy Director, who facilitated the discussion on many new developments and best practices of maritime arbitration through Mr. Mok’s sharing of his interesting stories and experiences. We also explored the opportunities Hong Kong is embracing for future growth in this dynamic and vital economic sector and highlighted the importance of reinforcing Hong Kong’s status as an international shipping centre.
