AALCO-HKRAC successfully hosted the COP 29 Preview Seminar in Cairo, attracting business and professional sectors and stakeholders from Egypt’s energy sector and representatives from global enterprises. The seminar focused on the legal frameworks, policy shifts, and future developments in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), renewable energy and unique advantages of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre. Director Nick Chan also shared insights on Hong Kong’s expertise in green finance, green bond issuance, and eco-technology, emphasizing Hong Kong’s role as an international financial center. He expressed hopes for fostering more opportunities for collaboration between China and Egypt in sustainable development. The discussions highlighted how Egypt can leverage its rich solar and wind resources to achieve the goal of 40% renewable energy generation ahead of 2035.
