AALCO -HKRAC Supports International Symposium on Cultivating IP Talent Exploring Talent Development Pathways in IP Dispute Resolution for “Belt and Road” – 8 November 2025
On 8 November 2025, The International Symposium on Cultivating Intellectual Property Talents and exchanging experience from the WIPO Summer School was successfully held at the Changning Campus of East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL). The event was organized by the Intellectual Property School at ECUPL and brought together experts from the WIPO China Office, Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, academic institutions, legal practitioners, and industry leaders from China and abroad.
Mr. Dennis CAI, Deputy Director of AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCO-HKRAC), was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech on “Developing Talent in IP Arbitration and Mediation for the Belt and Road Initiative.” He emphasized that as the Belt and Road Initiative continues to deepen, there is an urgent need to cultivate interdisciplinary and cross-border professionals to support an international IP dispute resolution framework aligned with global cooperation objectives.
As the host, the ECUPL School of Intellectual Property provided a high-quality platform for global legal talent exchange. University leaders including President Xiao Kai and Dean Cong Lixian delivered opening remarks, while Professor Yang Guohua from Tsinghua University shared expert perspectives in a keynote address. Experts from the Greater Bay Area and around the world engaged in fruitful discussions on various topics related to IP talent development.
AALCO-HKRAC remains committed to enhancing international arbitration and mediation capacity, actively collaborating with universities and institutions to design and implement specialized training programs. Through these efforts, the Centre aims to build a pool of high-caliber dispute resolution professionals to support Belt and Road legal cooperation and contribute to the improvement of the global IP protection framework.
Looking ahead, the Centre looks forward to deepening its partnership with the Intellectual Property School at ECUPL and other stakeholders to inject fresh momentum into global dispute resolution and legal development.
